Join us in our mission to enhance the transit rider experience for all members of the University of Michigan community.
Project RIDER was established in January of 2024 as a project team under Urbanism Club, a university student organization advocating for a variety of improvements to Ann Arbor's urban form.
Initially named"CCTC Improvement Team", the group was formed by civil engineering student Marina Campoy-Lovascotoimprove the CCTC's pedestrian crossings, a major throughfare used by her and many other students everyday. Marina was joined by urban technology student Jack Bernard and material engineering student Pranavi Gudi in the Winter 24 semester to expand the project's reach andimpact.
Throughfurther researchand project development, it became obvious that the transit center's crosswalk wasnot the only issue requiring attention. Project RIDER was created to promoteRadical Improvement During Every Ride, including facility improvements on the CCTC, and other transit-focused projects which you can learn more about in ourCurrent Initiatives page.
Project RIDER aims to create abetter transportation experience for all students, faculty and staff at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor Campus, and to push the university toimprove it's transportation system to prepare for their ambitious campus 2050 Vision Plan.
